A Real Devil

Is there a real devil? And clearly the answer is YES. The devil's past, present and future is solidly documented in the Holy Bible, GOD's WORD.

Eph 6:12
For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Despotism is defined as - dominance through threat of punishment and violence.

For whatever the reason we seem not to talk much about the devil. I do not know but perhaps it makes us feel uncomfortable maybe even fearful. But nonetheless, he is very real.

The devil often called Satan, is the ruler of master demonic spirits. And if there are master spirits then there are many many other spirits that carry out the orders of the master spirits.. How many??? probably millions and that is NOT an exaggeration.

Notice the Bible calls these spirits world rulers.....The devils rule is essentially over all the activities, in the world, that come out of three sin roots. While there are many kinds of sin, all sin has its origin from the following three sources.

1.. Through the lust of the flesh
2. Through the lust of the eye
3. Through the pride of life..

These three root sins are the foundation to this present worlds system. Or let me say that this is how the world operates.. And Satan is the GOD of this present age.

John 2:16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].

All sin no matter how small or large will produce a measure of death in the life of the individual.. It is a spiritual law.. Its called the law of sin and death.

Rom 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

Cor 15:56
Now sin is the sting of death, and sin exercises its power [upon the soul] through [the abuse of] the Law

This is the devil's territory. When you are out here you are subject to attack.

Here are just a few examples of behavior being influenced and carried through because of sin.

Lust of the flesh: Fornication, Adultery, Gluttony, Pornography, Homosexuality.

Lust of the eye: Covetousness, Over spending, Greed, Decisions based solely on outward appeal with little regard to anything else.

Pride of Life: Bragging, Controlling someone as a possession, delusions of grandeur, over estimating oneself and underestimating others, racism

Let's this principle home. as we read the following..-----

We find that when Jesus faced Satan in the wilderness these were the three ways Satan attacked our LORD..

Temptation 1 - (Lust of the Flesh)
Luke 4:2
for forty days, being tempted by the devil. And He ate nothing during those days, and when they had ended, He became hungry.

Luke 4:3
And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread."

Luke 4:4
And Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE.'"

Temptation 2..( The lust of the eye)

Luke 4:5
And he led Him up and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

Luke 4:6
And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

Luke 4:7
"Therefore if You worship before me, it shall all be Yours."

Luke 4:8
Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"

Temptation 3. (The pride of life).

Luke 4:9
And he led Him to Jerusalem and had Him stand on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here;

Luke 4:10
for it is written, 'HE WILL COMMAND HIS ANGELS CONCERNING YOU TO GUARD YOU,'

Luke 4:11
and, 'ON their HANDS THEY WILL BEAR YOU UP, SO THAT YOU WILL NOT STRIKE YOUR FOOT AGAINST A STONE.'"

Luke 4:12
And Jesus answered and said to him, "It is said, 'YOU SHALL NOT PUT THE LORD YOUR GOD TO THE TEST.'"

Pay attention to this...after the devil tempted Jesus in these three areas, the devil went away.. He had finished the complete cycle of temptation;

Luke 4:13
And when the devil had ended every [the complete cycle of] temptation, he [temporarily] left Him [that is, stood off from Him] until another more opportune and favorable time.

This is exactly why the Bible says Jesus was tempted in ALL points just as we are yet without sin..., Jesus endured the complete cycle of temptation through the three sin groups --- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life.

Heb 4:15
For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.

You don't think God understands what we are going through..OOOhhhh YES He does.. In fact because He Himself experienced the same temptations we face, He can now interceed for us, represent us and stand before GOD the Father in our stead..as our HIGH Priest.

Heb 2:17
So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people's sins.

The work performed on the cross by Our LORD Christ Jesus.. , As our High Priest, brought justification and righteousness to all us who call on His Name with a pure heart..

God provided the means through the cross to reunite us with GOD and translated us from one kingdom ruled by the devil to another Kingdom ruled by Jesus..

We are no longer apart of this worlds system as long as we remain steadfast in the faith.., clinging to, relying on, and trusting in Jesus.

Col 1:13
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

No longer under the dominion of this world and no longer subject to and controlled by the kingdom of darkness..

Eph 2:2
In which at one time you walked [habitually]. You were following the course and fashion of this world [were under the sway of the tendency of this present age], following the prince of the power of the air. [You were obedient to and under the control of] the [demon] spirit that still constantly works in the sons of disobedience [the careless, the rebellious, and the unbelieving, who go against the purposes of God].

Our relationship with the world and its ways is broken. And because this relationship has forever ended, we now longer are under the influence of sin and therefore, sin shall NOT have dominion over YOU!!! And neither is the devil your task master, his power is annulled and of no consequence.

Rom 6:11
Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

Rom 6:14
For sin shall not [any longer] exert dominion over you, since now you are not under Law [as slaves], but under grace [as subjects of God's favor and mercy].

Satan is powerful make no mistake about that, but a far greater one has come on the scene. That is why the Bible declares, greater is He that is within me than he that is in the world!!!! The devil is defeated!!!!

Luke 11:20
"But if I cast out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you.

Luke 11:21
"When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are undisturbed.

Luke 11:22
"But when someone stronger than he attacks him and overpowers him, he takes away from him all his armor on which he had relied and distributes his plunder.

How do you love???

How do you love,.. Or shall I ask how is your love displayed? How important is it to love? And what does this display of love look like?

Love is the most essential quality that we possess as Christians... , Without love we are defined as just tinkling brass or a sounding cymbal .. we are just making a bunch of noise.. In fact no matter how much talent we possess we should not be known soley by our talents.. The Bible proclaims, we shall be known because we have love for one another;

John 13:35
By this shall all [men] know that you are My disciples, if you love one another [if you keep on showing love among yourselves].

I call love the Christian identification card. Showing love is much more of a credential for a disciple of Jesus than any other spiritual trait.

Regular church attendance is NOT evidence of your Faith. Being on the usher board is NOT evidence of your Faith. Preaching is NOT evidence of you faith in Jesus, Singing is not evidence of your faith in Jesus, speaking in an unkown language is NOT evidence of your faith in Jesus... And yes having a Bible Study lesson posted on the internet is NOT evidence of Faith.

The sign of a Christian will be measured by love being actively displayed in the individual.

Eph 1:15 For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you and your love for all the saints,

Col 1:4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;

Philem 1:5 because I hear of your love and of the faith which you have toward the Lord Jesus and toward all the saints;

That is pretty plain is it not.., Because you have Faith in Jesus you now LOVE!!!

Rom 5:5
Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God's love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.

Just as salvation came as a result of our Faith so does love also come as a result of our Faith...

Let me provide a really over simplification of what love is.. , Acts of Charity..... If you have faith the fruit that is produced through faith are acts of charity.. If you reference 1 Cor 13:4 , in the King James Version..., Love is called Charity.. and Charity is an act of kindness and the distribution of mercy. It is the fruit that the Spirit of GOD resident in us produces. And our acts of kindness our deeds become the very proof that we know GOD and that GOD knows us.

Here is a simple example recorded in the Holy Bible to bring home this point. ..

Matt 7:19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.

Matt 7:20 Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.

Matt 7:21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.

Matt 7:22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name?

Matt 7:23 And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].

Notice the scripture says we shall be fully known by our fruits. This is how people shall know us as Christians and this is how GOD sees that we belong to HIM. My most earnest prayer is that GOD will say HE knows you.

Matt 25:35 'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;

Matt 25:36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'

Matt 25:37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?

Matt 25:38 'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?

Matt 25:39 'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'

Matt 25:40 "The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'

Please know that we do not love so that we can know GOD.. We love because GOD know us, partners with us abides in us and is in our midst.

WE behave as the Spirit living in us prompts us to behave, with acts fitting our salvation, manifested and revealed through our active living faith in Our LORD Jesus Christ.

James 2:14 What is the use (profit), my brethren, for anyone to profess to have faith if he has no [good] works [to show for it]? Can [such] faith save [his soul]?

James 2:15 If a brother or sister is poorly clad and lacks food for each day,

James 2:16 And one of you says to him, Good-bye! Keep [yourself] warm and well fed, without giving him the necessities for the body, what good does that do?

James 2:17 So also faith, if it does not have works (deeds and actions of obedience to back it up), by itself is destitute of power (inoperative, dead).

Love becomes activated through faith in Christ Jesus .., A complete transfomation occurs, you have been the recipient of an infusion of God's love..

Without love , or behavior representative of Faith.., Our Faith is worthless ,our faith is DEAD.. and the Bible says , dead faith will not save YOU..

Gal 5:6
For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love
.

My friends love is our garment.., it is the clothing that we wear . Did you know the Bible often relates righteosness as garments.. or clothing..or the lack thereof as nakeness..

No righteosness: ......... Rev 3:17
For you say, I am rich; I have prospered and grown wealthy, and I am in need of nothing; and you do not realize and understand that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked

Righteousness:..........Rev 19:8
She has been permitted to dress in fine (radiant) linen, dazzling and white--for the fine linen is (signifies, represents) the righteousness (the upright, just, and godly living, deeds, and conduct, and right standing with God) of the saints (God's holy people).

I want to always be dressed properly in this world and in the world to come.. ..

1 John 4:7
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.

Bible Interpretation ?????? Really???

We have often heard many people say .. "Well that is just your interpretation of the Bible".., We all have our own interpretation...

This line of reasoning is not really true..., The Bible is a HOLY book and it's author is GOD Himself.. , If I write you a letter and perhaps you misunderstand what I wrote, then you may try to figure out......just what did Ormond mean.., you may attempt to interpret what I was trying to say.. but until you actually talk to me you never really know..

The Bible.. The HOLY Word of the ever present living GOD.., is based on the following scriptural premise;

2 Pet 1:20
[Yet] first [you must] understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is [a matter] of any personal or private or special interpretation (loosening, solving).

2 Pet 1:21
For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so--it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

Did you see that... so it isnt true that we can each have our own interpretation of the Bible.... By the way, just a side note.., do you realize when someone says the Bible was written by man as it's source.. that they have just commited blasphemy..

...What is Blasphemy.. It is calling something HOLY, common , or putting something HOLy to the level of man.. man was simply the instrument, the pen.. that's it......the inerrant WORD of GOD says the BIble has the HOLY Spirit as it's source..

2 Tim 3:16
Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God's will in thought, purpose, and action),

What we are all seeking is understanding..., that's all we want . We want to acurately comprehend the Bible's meaning.. so we can clearly know what the author GOD is saying.. So, how do we obtain understanding of the WORD of GOD..

Prov 2:6
For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Now, am I saying that GOD will talk to you??? ..YES that is exactly what I am saying.. No, I do not mean this literally.. But GOD effectively communicates with us... God imparts understanding , unfolds understanding , and He gives us eyes to see and ears to hear.

Matt 13:16
"But blessed are your eyes, because they see; and your ears, because they hear.

We get our understanding from GOD Hinself.., The HOLY Spirit....The LORD did not leave this up to man... He said in HIS WORD.. I will handle this.. so there is no misunderstanding or interpretation regarding what I mean..

John 14:26
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

My friends the Bible is a supernatural book and can only be truly understood through supernatual means..., Because the natual man.. unregenerate ,unsaved men can NOT receive from GOD..

1 Cor 2:14
But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

This is why the world comes up with thousands of interpretations and countless commentaries on the Bible.., because they can not understand the Bible.. they turn the whole thing into an academic pursuit...

Luke 10:21 In that same hour He rejoiced and gloried in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have concealed these things [relating to salvation] from the wise and understanding and learned , and revealed them to babes (the childish, unskilled, and untaught). Yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will and choice and good pleasure.

How profound is this, some people have spent many many hours researching book after book , taking a magnifying glass to history, getting advanced degrees in theology.. and Here is God revealing hinself to the little insignificant brother and sister working behind the grill at McDonalds who are humble and repentent in heart..... Whom the world ignores and views with contempt...

Rom 11:33
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unfathomable (inscrutable, unsearchable) are His judgments (His decisions)! And how untraceable (mysterious, undiscoverable) are His ways (His methods, His paths)!

We must realize that knowing GOD.., getting close to God.., seeing GOD.., is a heart issue.. not a mind issue..

Eph 4:18
being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart;

A hard heart is a heart that refuses to repent of sin... Someone who refuses to confess openly their sins and receive the Grace and Mercy of GOD ... The Obstacle that prevents us from knowing GOD is sin.. and until it is dealt with we remain in the dark..

Matt 13:15
FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL, WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR, AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES, OTHERWISE THEY WOULD SEE WITH THEIR EYES, HEAR WITH THEIR EARS, AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN, AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.'

Ok here is the Key , the answer to the question , how do we interpret the BIBLE... we go the the Author.., GOD HIMSELF.... and How do we go to GOD..???

Acts 2:38
Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Ps 34:18
The Lord is close to those who are of a broken heart and saves such as are crushed with sorrow for sin and are humbly and thoroughly penitent.

Now be prepared to hear from GOD.. He is ready and eager and more than willing to lead you and guide you into ALL Truth.. He will reveal HIMself to YOU.., and you will never ever have to depend on man's interpretation again.. Isn't that awesome..!!!!

Matt 16:16
Simon Peter replied, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Matt 16:17
Then Jesus answered him, Blessed (happy, fortunate, and to be envied) are you, Simon Bar-Jonah. For flesh and blood [men] have not revealed this to you, but My Father Who is in heaven.

The world didn't give it and the world can not take it away..!!

Salvation 1-2-3

Salvation, it is a progressive experience…, Yes it is... A Three step process..., Is this some new strange doctrine that I am trying to introduce to all of you ...??? Is it Biblically based...??? I always thought I was already saved..., Well Yes you are… Thank the LORD Jesus

Step 1 – Your Spirit is first saved..(Who you really are, Your life Force) If your Spirit leaves your body, you are dead...Well , YOU are not dead.. But your body, it is dead.. , for a moment.., think of your body as your earth suit... To be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD..

We are saved: (Our Spirits are Born Again”)

1 Pet 1:23
You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

John 3:6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Step 2-We are being Saved – Progressive tense---(Our souls, -Our personalities, the culmination of all experiences, our heart, mind and emotions, how we relate to the outside world, our consciousness, )…

First we must desire the WORD.., the Bible.. Why?? Well for the same reason a baby needs milk.. To grow..!!! and growth is a progressive experience....

1 Pet 2:2
like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

There's that word again"grow".....grow into what??? Our Salvation...

Of course, just as it it would not be normal to remain a baby in the natural....It is not normal to remain a baby in the spirit... Our nurishment must soon be coupled with strong meat....to aid in further development.....Ahhh, I hate to mention this but.. here goes..what is strong meat.., try suffering .

Mark 4:17
and they have no firm root in themselves, but are only temporary; then, when affliction or persecution arises because of the word, immediately they fall away.

Through the trial of our Faith we grow further into our salvation.. Everyone must face the testing of their Faith.., Through suffering..

Pet 5:10 And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you.

Ok, if everything was taken care of.. after we were water baptised..why the need to be completed???.. Why?? Because we must grow-up..in our salvation....

I call it the third Baptism , First Baptism is a Water Baptism, (The Baptism of Repentence)… Second Baptism, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the Third Baptism, The Baptism of Fire)

Matt 3:11 "As for me, I baptize you with water for repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, and I am not fit to remove His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

We are not done after the sinners prayer .. We then must decide to press on ...

Phil 3:14
I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

This is why the Lord Jesus said , the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.., Salvation is not a casual walk in the park….

Matt 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until the present time, the kingdom of heaven has endured violent assault, and violent men seize it by force [as a precious prize--a share in the heavenly kingdom is sought with most ardent zeal and intense exertion].

Yes my friends, enter in through the narrow gate.. only there can we experience the abundant life in CHRIST JESUS..

Matt 7:13
Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it.

Matt 7:14
But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it

Step 3---And Finally... In that DAY.. We Will Be Saved!!! –We get New Bodies..

1 Cor 15:49 Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly.
1 Cor 15:50 Now I say this, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
1 Cor 15:51 Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,
1 Cor 15:52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
1 Cor 15:53 For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1 Cor 15:54 But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP in victory..

See what I mean... Salvation..One ..Two ..Three.., .How can you be assured of reaching step 3... , by Faith .. it is already done!!!..

Phil 1:6
And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in you will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.

. See all of you in Step 3.. You don't have to wait until the battle is over you can shout NOW!!!!

Praise the Name of Jesus!!!

The way UP is DOWN!!!

Do you desire to hear from GOD, are you interested in gaining a more intimate relationship with Jesus.. Should you just read the Bible more, perhaps get more involved in church, Praise HIM more??? These ideas seem credible but as always, when we need to know the how and ways of GOD we must inquire through life's instruction manual the "HOLY" Bible..

How do we go up, by going down??? There is one simple component..through Humility...., through the meekness of your character brought about by humility we are elevated in the Kingdom of GOD..

Matt 18:4
"Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven

I love the story of Moses, He was very very unique because of his close relationship with GOD .. Listen how the Bible records this relationship..

Num 12:6 He said, "Hear now My words: If there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, shall make Myself known to him in a vision. I shall speak with him in a dream. Num 12:7 "Not so, with My servant Moses, He is faithful in all My household;

Num 12:8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, Even openly, and not in dark sayings, And he beholds the form of the LORD.

Why then were you not afraid To speak against My servant, against Moses?"

Moses entered into this intimately close relationship with GOD because of
The meekness and humility of his character.. Moses was the most humble man on the face of the entire earth.. He spoke to GOD mouth to mouth.. Incredible!!!! Yes just like you and I could do in a coffee shop..Moses and GOD ....JUst sitting around chillin... !!!!

Num 12:3
(Now the man Moses was very humble, more than any man who was on the face of the ear

Jesus demonstarted humility to his disciples by washing the disciples feet..
Washing feet at that time was the job of the most lowly slave in the houshold.. No one of reputation and statue would lower himself to perform such a task..

John 13:13 "You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. John 13:14 "If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. John 13:15 "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you.

Let me relate this in todays terms so that the revelency can be made plain
It's like the President of the United States showing up at your house ready to clean your bathroom.. , You would say.. Mr President.. please you don't have to do that.. That job is far to lowly for you to perform..

I am always amused a churches having foot washing services.. , If you really want to show humility.. Go to someone's house, without telling anyone and clean their toilet... Then you will understand humility like Jesus is teaching here..

Matt 11:29
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

Let us follow Christ .. He knows the WAY UP!!!!

Phil 2:5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:]

Phil 2:6 Who, although being essentially one with God and in the form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained,

Phil 2:7 But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.

Phil 2:8 And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!

Phil 2:9 Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,

Phil 2:10 That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,

Phil 2:11 And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Wow, that is tooo awesome... , Trust me, everything in here, I need to take heed myself... and To God be the GLORY..

John 15:16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you,

We all are familiar with this scripture:

John 15:16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you,
and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit,
and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever
you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
Does GOD make choices based on any particular criteria???

This is very interesting because "ALL Have Sinned and
fallen short of the Glory of GOD...
Therefore no one is chosen by GOD based on any personal merit...
We know and understand that
God is NOT a respecter of persons.
..
Acts 10:34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly
and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows
no partiality and is no respecter of persons,

So who might be the most likely candidate for the Mercy
and Grace of GOD??? As always the answer can be found in God’s Word, the HOLY BIBLE...

1 Cor 1:28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the
world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,

Amazing.. Wow.. GOD does have preferences.. Who woulda
thunk -it..LOL..... It even says He selected and deliberately choose!!!

How would I describe lowborn..?? Here are a few examples..
Children born out of wedlock, the poor, the uneducated, and the disadvantage would be a way of describing the lowborn...

I am certain a few of you could add a few more examples...

These people are lowborn in terms of the World...
Listen to what Jesus says about the Children of the KINGDOM..
.
James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

There is more;

Now GOD will choose some educated some rich, some skillful people as well. But when compared
to the Lowborn... GOD chooses many more of the lowborn... people who are at the end of the world’s pecking order.

1 Cor 1:26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.

An excellent example of someone lowborn, whom our Gracious LORD chose would be Mary, the mother of Jesus
She was a poor Shepard girl..

How do I know she was poor? Well other than the historical evidence... the is something far
more dependable for truth... and that would of course be the Bible...
When Jesus was 8 days old Mary and Joseph went to the Temple to dedicate HIM to GOD.. In accordance to Jewish Levitical Law.
Or what is called the Law of Moses.

Luke 2:22 And when the days for their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord

Luke 2:23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "EVERY firstborn MALE THAT OPENS THE WOMB SHALL BE CALLED HOLY TO THE LORD"),
Luke 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord. Now an animal sacrifice was to have been made... not for the sins of the Child...but for the Mother...the Law required
Lev 12:7 'Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood.
This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.
Lev 12:8 'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,
the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"

If Mary could not afford a lamb she could offer two turtledoves... What did Mary offer.. the Bible list this record of the event..

Luke 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord, "A PAIR OF TURTLEDOVES OR TWO YOUNG PIGEONS."

Mary was poor.. we can be certain if Mary could have afforded a lamb.. She would have certainly offered a lamb..

Is this not REMARKABLE...Now GOD could have chosen to be born into any family BUT He chose a poor Shepard girl.. .. Jesus (GOD) wanted to abandone HIMSELF from any sort of privalege.. So That whaterver occurred had to be from GOD.. Why.. because NO Flesh will Glory in HIS Presence....

1 Cor 1:29 So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.

Today we find many Christian measuring themselves against a secular value system as an indicator of if a brother or sister is blessed..

We live in a world were certain sectors of the "Church" deem material prosperity as the Lord's mandate for all Christians. and part of the salvation benefit package. However before buying into this particular wind of doctrine let us consider God’s Word.

The Bible is the final authority for all truth..!!!

Matt 5:3 Blessed (happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions ) are the poor in spirit (the humble, who rate themselves insignificant), for theirs is the kingdom of heaven!

Regardless of our ourward conditions?? So reason would tell us , Material abundance is NOT necessarily an indicator of being blessed

Here are some additonal scripture with the same message..

Matt 5:5 Blessed (happy, blithesome, joyous, spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions ) are the meek (the mild, patient, long-suffering), for they shall inherit the earth!

Matt 5:8 Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous--possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!

So what does it truly mean to be blessed.. Well we just read it:

Blessed = (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous--possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions)

The promise of GOD is NOT, that HE will make you rich, although HE easily can make you rich if He chooses.

Luke 12:15 And He said to them, Guard yourselves and keep free from all covetousness (the immoderate desire for wealth, the greedy longing to have more); for a man's life does not consist in and is not derived from possessing overflowing abundance or that which is over and above his needs.

The promise of GOD is NOT, that you will walk in divine health all the days of your life. Although He can easily heal you if He so Chooses

2 Cor 12:7 And to keep me from being puffed up and too much elated by the exceeding greatness (preeminence) of these revelations, there was given me a thorn (a splinter) in the flesh , a messenger of Satan, to rack and buffet and harass me, to keep me from being excessively exalted

The promise of GOD is NOT, that you will never ever have problems in your life, Although He can easily make all your problems disappear if He so chooses.

Acts 14:22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying, "Through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God."

His promise to us is simply He will never ever leave us, His matchless grace is sufficient for us... when we are well fed or hungry... when we are financially comfortable or living with lack.. When we live in perfect health or suffering with illness...WE CAN (DO) or Endure any situation through CHRIST Who strengthens us..

Phil 4:12 I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want. Phil 4:13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me ; I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency].

With Jesus you can handle anything that life or even Death can throw at you!!!!

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending and threatening nor things to come, nor powers, Rom 8:39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Now that defines a truly Blessed Son or Daughter of GOD...!!

What do you have to boast about???

Do you boast about your education??/ your Job, perhaps your car or house.. or even your Bible knowledge.. you can quote scripture at the drop of a hat..

Well in many instances boasting is rooted in the sin of pride "The pride of life" ...

.1 John 2:16 ............... and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources
or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].

Paul did a little boasting as recorded in God's Holy Bible... and what exactly did Paul boast about???

2 Cor 11:30 If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my weakness

2 Cor 12:9 And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

2 Cor 12:10 Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

If we are going to boast..... Let our boast be in the things that manifest CHRIST JESUS

Ps 34:2
My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice.
