What are the devil's interest?

Clearly I have way too much time on my hands..lol..What are the devil's interest? If you are unsaved the devil is interested in some things that you also find interesting... yep you are a happy couple..

Matt 16:23.... "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's...

Wow, way   .., too deep....

Here is my advice to all in 2011

I am on a rampage ..lol.. Scriptures just keep pouring through my head.. It just does not stop??

Here is my advice to all in 2011. See comments below.
.
Eccl 12:13 All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation, the object of God's providence, the root of character, the foundation of all happiness, the adjustment to all inharmonious circumstances and conditions under the sun] and the whole [duty] for every man.
Eccl 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good or evil

Closet Christians, you are safe for now,

Closet Christians, you are safe for now.But only for now.

Closet Christians, you are safe for now, but in the closing of the age, shame shame shame on you

Mark 8:38 "For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.

Because I am a Christian I have to forgive you no matter what

Because I am a Christian I have to forgive you no matter what

If that is how you feel, then you have missed the mark by a mile.

Forgive as GOD has forgiven you, the right attitude is GOD wanted to forgive you so very badly that he died for you. Big difference between what you have to do, and what you want to do. GOD does not have to do anything unless He wants to do it because He owes nothing to any one.

If you forgive because you feel you have to forgive then you know nothing about love.

Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

Why did God allow the devil to tempt Adam and Eve?

 Why did God allow the devil to tempt Adam and Eve? God was establishing obedience and without a temptation, obedience can not be established. If you face temptations today just realized GOD is establishing obedience in your life.

‎1 Cor 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure i

Have you had all of your baptisms? There are three(3)

Have you had all of your baptisms? There are three(3) kinds of baptisms,and none can be omitted. Most professing Christians only get one and they think they are done, thereby falling woefully short of GOD's requirements for disciplining.

Matt 3:11 I indeed baptize you in (with) -(No.1) water because of repentance [that is, because of your changing your minds for the better, heartily amending your ways, with abhorrence of your past sins]. But He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, Whose sandals I am not worthy or fit to take off or carry; He will baptize you with the (No.2) Holy Spirit and with(No. 3) fire.

Baptism No. 1 -Repentance (Symbolized through full immersion in water) And realized through a change in your behavior, no change = no salvation. The water means nothing if you remain the same, you will still go to hell.

Matt 3:7 But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee and escape from the wrath and indignation [of God against disobedience] that is coming?
Matt 3:8 Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart

Baptism No. 2 Holy Spirit infilling (Supplied with power from heaven for Godly living). The Holy spirit is GOD's stamp that you belong to HIM.

Rom 8:9 However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him.

Eph 1:13 In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit.

Baptism No. 3 - Fire - (Proving the genuineness of your faith through suffering, trial and testing). You will never be established in Christ without being purified by fire.

1 Pet 4:12 Beloved, do not be amazed and bewildered at the fiery ordeal which is taking place to test your quality, as though something strange (unusual and alien to you and your position) were befalling you.
1 Pet 4:13 But insofar as you are sharing Christ's sufferings, rejoice, so that when His glory [full of radiance and splendor] is revealed, you may also rejoice with triumph [exultantly]

Shooting the Wounded - Unsaid "Church" Policy.

Let me first say I am NOT saying this includes ALL churches. Like many things we will  find exceptions.
But on the other hand this situation is generally true.  Most of us have had moral failures since we have been saved. And although we've repented and the Lord has welcomed us back into the family of GOD many "church folk" and the secular world perceive us according to past sins.  When the LORD restores us, it is NOT to be questioned and neither is condemnation from any source right . Why?? because it is Jesus who died and rose again for the propitiation  of our sins
Definition: the act of propitiating, something that propitiates; specifically : an atoning sacrifice.
Rom 8:33 Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies;
This Bible Blog post is intended to bring you encouragement. Look at yourself as the LORD sees you and NO ONE else!
True repentance is shown by our behavior, have we stopped doing what we know offends GOD.
Matt 3:8 Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart];
If our behavior lines up with our confession of repentance we find the loving forgiveness of Jesus is abundantly provided.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Alright, so how should the "Church" handle the fallen???  There was a man who commited the terrible sin of incest by having his father's wife, his step mom. But he repented. Let us read the instructions for handling the repented man.
2 Cor 2:5 But if someone [the one among you who committed incest] has caused [all this] grief and pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure, not to put it too severely, [he has distressed] all of you.
2 Cor 2:6 For such a one this censure by the majority [which he has received is] sufficient [punishment].
2 Cor 2:7 So [instead of further rebuke, now] you should rather turn and [graciously] forgive and comfort and encourage [him], to keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive sorrow and despair.
2 Cor 2:8 I therefore beg you to reinstate him in your affections and assure him of your love for him;

It would not be surprising to me if our restoration because of past failures makes us better Christians.
Yes,  it would have been far better if we had never sinned. Often sinning ruins our testimony and credibility to an unforgiving world. Yet GOD is able to take the mired clay of our lives and shape once again to a vessel of honor.
Peter denied the Lord
Moses committed murder
David committed murder and adultery
Sampson fornicated with Delilah
Isiah used profanity
The list goes on and on and on, and we too have our stories.
Jesus loves you and awaits your return to HIM.
Luke 15:21 "And the son said to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight; I am no longer worthy to be called your son.'
Luke 15:22 "But the father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet;
Luke 15:23 and bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let us eat and celebrate;
Luke 15:24 for this son of mine was dead and has come to life again; he was lost and has been found.' And they began to celebrate.
People when you see your brother or sister entangled again in sin please adhere to the following instructions:
Gal 6:1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ
Do not shoot your wounded!!!

JESUS talks to an unsaved preacher - A Bible Oxymoron

Oxymoron: A paradoxical juxtaposition of two seemingly contradictory words

By definition a preacher is someone who is already saved; an unsaved preacher is therefore an oxymoron.

One of the most striking things to me in church society or church community is the extremely large amount of so called Christians who are not actually saved.  I find this phenomena to be representative of a countless number of people   There has always been people who know how to play church, but have no relationship with the head of the church, Jesus Christ.

This condition as described above, is illustrated from a real conversation between Jesus and a religious leader of Israel.

Again, a religious leader( preacher), should be already saved. But this is NOT the case

John 3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews;
John 3:2 this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him."

How do I know Nicodemus was not saved? It is very simple, he did not recognize Jesus as the Son of GOD.
There is an acknowledgement that Jesus must be a teacher, sent from GOD. But there is a huge difference between the two, recognizing  Jesus Christ as the Son of the Living God brings you into the salvation experience. Saying that Jesus is a teacher, a prophet or anything less that what He is, the Son of God , leaves you in your sinful state.

Jesus asked His disciples this very question, who do you say that I am?

Matt 16:15 He *said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"

Matt 16:16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

We can find so many Non Christian religions that say Jesus was a prophet , a very wise man and other things, they admit that He existed but fall short of saying who He was, He who is. and who He will always will be and that is, The Son of GOD.  However this is to be expected, they do not say they are Christians.

What separates the Christian from all other religions? Jesus is the Christ, having that revelation separates us from everyone.

If you talk to someone who says they are saved , here is a certain way of finding out if they truly are saved, ask them this question;

Are other religions that do not believe in Jesus saved?, The unsaved persons reply will be, Yes everyone has their.  own way, we have our way with Jesus and they have their way , we are all trying for the same goal .
Many Many so called Christian leaders adhere to this line of thinking, but it is NOT true.

Acts 4:11 This [Jesus] is the Stone which was despised and rejected by you, the builders, but which has become the Head of the corner [the Cornerstone].
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.

I would consider the matter regarding the question now settled.

When we have not been saved ,spiritual subjects are difficult if not impossible to comprehend

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God."
John 3:4 Nicodemus *said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?"

Nicodemus responded to the Born Again concept as would be expected from a natural unsaved person

1 Cor 2:14 But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.

If you tell an unsaved person that you are filled with the Holy Spirit, they can not conceive that to be literal. You will find them trying to explain being Spirit filled as an abstract  but no way will they think that means to be literally filled with the Precious Holy Spirit.  " Yes we all have GOD, everything has GOD in it the, plants the ocean, the sea the animals" they will erroneously say something along those lines.

Without salvation you  can not see GOD, at least not the real GOD. Here are the prerequisites;

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Although you might call yourself  a Christian, without the Born Again experience in your life you are not saved. You are an oxymoron because being a Christian means you are Born Again.

Rom 8:9................... But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].

How do I obtain this born again experience???  Read your Bible , it is all there.

Acts 2:38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

A Case for Church Integrity - 1 Cor 12:27 Now you are Christ's body, and individually members of it.

Integrity : the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished:

It is unfortunate in my opinion, that I have to present a case supporting the importance of Church integrity. However this is the situation, because of ongoing tolerance of sin and complacency in the church. The greater evil is that we would say nothing about our condition. The entire objective of the church is to be one with Christ. From the time we enter the Kingdom of GOD through the new birth our focus is to grow up in Christ.

Eph 4:15 but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ,
  Eph 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

Growing up in Christ is phase 2 of the salvation experience. In order to grow up we first have to be born, that is phase 1, the new birth experience.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
  John 3:6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We are not talking about a physical birth as explained in the above scripture, this is a spiritual birth.

When the new birth is realized we enter into a new kingdom as new born babies. From this point there is a growing up process. A babies primary nourishment is milk, for the born again child of GOD his milk is the Word of GOD.

Col 1:13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

1 Pet 2:2 like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,

I wrote these things to establish a foundation for the rest of this lesson. I can not presume even the fundamental principals of Christianity are fully understood by the reader.

Jesus Christ is without sin and Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. The Church is rightfully called the Body of Christ.  And since the head is holy, so must the body be holy. If the head is without sin, so must the rest of the body be without sin. This is why I chose to use the word "Integrity", because it defines what must be obtained in Christ Body, it defines wholeness.

When we willfully sin it is an indicator that we are not saved, willful sin is done by sinners. Because of the new birth Christians are no longer sinners the old sin nature is dead.

Rom 6:11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

When a Christian sins it is against his nature.

1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.

This is my premise for the case of integrity. Most of us do not see a church of integrity today.
We face two major problems , the first problems surrounds the issue of doctrine and the second problems surrounds the issue of behavior.

 Gal 5:9 A little leaven leavens the whole lump of dough.

If you except false doctrine in your heart, it works like yeast, soon error will spread into every area in your heart.

There are so many preachers out here today we must constantly be on guard regarding what we are being taught by all these people. And the only why we can protect ourselves is by knowing the Word of God for ourselves. Yes this requires effort on our part. But you should have a hunger for the the Bible, it is your spiritual food and your spirit desires to be fed. Sin will take away your desire to read, be mindful of that cause if you have trouble reading and or understanding the Bible.

There is another major component required for us to recognize sound doctrine; and that would be following the lead of the Holy Spirit when you study the Bible. The Holy Spirit is your instructor.

John 14:26 But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you

God does use men to teach as as well;

Eph 4:11 And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers,
Eph 4:12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;

 but that does not excuse us of our role to verify anything we here as being true or false. There are so many voices we must be mindful of who we listen to, please weigh what you hear against scripture.

Acts 17:11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Often the Holy Spirit will alert you to false teaching. Do not ignore the Holy Spirit's prompting in your heart.
Once the Word is in our heart then we will know how to behave in accordance with the Christian lifestyle.

We can further describe behavior as our fruit.

Matt 3:8 Bring forth fruit that is consistent with repentance [let your lives prove your change of heart];

Repentance is a prerequisite to salvation. If we never repent there is no salvation. And moving forward after salvation is obtained this behavior becomes our foundation for all our actions.

There we have it, the elements that represent integrity in the Body of Christ. We are a Holy people, set apart from the world.

2 Cor 6:17 So, come out from among [unbelievers], and separate (sever) yourselves from them, says the Lord, and touch not [any] unclean thing; then I will receive you kindly and treat you with favor, [Isa. 52:11.]
2 Cor 6:18 And I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.

And we shall be known by our fruit (behavior).  I remember hearing Christians say how when they get to heaven they are going to put on their robe and tell their story.  The truth is if you are not wearing a robe here in the earth then you will not be wearing a robe in heaven. The robe represents the righteous acts of the saints, it represents our behavior right here on earth.

Rev 19:8 She has been permitted to dress in fine (radiant) linen, dazzling and white--for the fine linen is (signifies, represents) the righteousness (the upright, just, and godly living, deeds, and conduct, and right standing with God) of the saints (God's holy people).

Jesus is a Wacko , Says Relatives!!!!

Mark 3:21 And when those who belonged to Him (His kinsmen) heard it, they went out to take Him by force, for they kept saying, He is out of His mind (beside Himself, deranged)!

Talking about being unappreciated , WOW! But I can understand their reaction, Jesus grew up just like everyone else.  There was nothing special about Jesus that they could see, and now here He is preaching everywhere, making a fool of himself, is what many were thinking. His family was like, we better go get that boy.   As you see from scripture they thought He was crazy.

Jesus grew up poor with no special privileges and was uneducated

John 7:14  But when it was now the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and began to teach.
John 7:15 The Jews then were astonished, saying, "How has this man become learned, having never been educated?"

Educated people will often only listen to other educated people, so hearing the Gospel from an uneducated man like Jesus made no sense to them, and therefore they were shocked (Astonished) at the wisdom and knowledge of the LORD.

Rom 11:9 And David says,
"LET THEIR TABLE BECOME A SNARE AND A TRAP,
AND A STUMBLING BLOCK AND A RETRIBUTION TO THEM.

In the context of the above scripture, the table refers to our beliefs, the things we have determined to be of value to our personal development. The very thing that we have chosen to chart our course in life can be the same thing that causes us to miss GOD. In this case most men  could not get over the fact that Jesus was uneducated.

1 Cor 1:19 For it is written,
"I WILL DESTROY THE WISDOM OF THE WISE,
AND THE CLEVERNESS OF THE CLEVER I WILL SET ASIDE."

The family of Jesus had a different problem all together, they were far too familiar with Jesus and could not imagine Jesus to be whom He proclaimed to be the Son of the Living GOD.

Luke 3:22 and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, "You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased."

Nonetheless, among family especially, Jesus was perceived as a common man.

Mark 6:4 Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown and among his own relatives and in his own household."

This is the attitude towards Jesus , You are no better than us, who do you think you are! There are other factors as well that contributed to the rejection of Jesus not only by friends and family, but by the nation of Israel.

Many looked at Jesus and said, there is absolutely NO WAY, this man is from GOD. But what they did not know was that their rejection of Jesus was a set up. If Israel had not rejected Jesus then He would not have been crucified and today we would not have eternal life through Christ Jesus. The crucifixion indeed comes forth out of the wisdom of GOD, turning the world's concept of death and defeat to everlasting life and victory.

1 Cor 2:7 But rather what we are setting forth is a wisdom of God once hidden [from the human understanding] and now revealed to us by God--[that wisdom] which God devised and decreed before the ages for our glorification [to lift us into the glory of His presence].
1 Cor 2:8 None of the rulers of this age or world perceived and recognized and understood this, for if they had, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory

Not everyone thought Jesus has a wacko and a fake, those who believed in HIM are those He chose. Largely the people God choses are also the same people  remarkably  the world rejects.

1 Cor 1:26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.

Notice the scripture says NOT MANY, so there are some, but for the most part the choices of GOD are as follows;

1 Cor 1:27 [No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

1 Cor 1:28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are

Are you poor, uneducated, unattractive, someone when people walk by you they do not even know you exist?   You are GODS kind of people. God is not looking for people with the big head, the rich and affluent most often they have far too much pride to get GOD's attention.  GOD chooses the insignificant because He will have no man boost before HIM. So if you are confused and asking yourself why does GOD do this , here is the answer

1 Cor 1:29 So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.

Jesus came to earth in a form that was unattractive to the prideful. Be careful who you look down on with a sense of superiority because you very well could be rejecting Jesus.

Matt 25:40 And the King will reply to them, Truly I tell you, in so far as you did it for one of the least [in the estimation of men] of these My brethren, you did it for Me.

And to those who are thought to be forgotten Rejoice..

James 2:5
Listen, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and in their position as believers and to inherit the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him

Sincerely Yours

" Who are you to Judge, Only GOD can judge me and you ain't GOD" -Debunked!!!

debunking - repudiation: the exposure of falseness or pretensions;

I do not know how many times I have heard people say; Only GOD can judge me and YOU are not GOD.
This excuse is used oftentimes when a person is trying to defend their behavior when living a lifestyle of sin.
Even well known preaches hold this opinion that judging others is wrong.  I have in the past tackled this subject but lately because of current scandals in the "Church", I find it necessary to revisit the subject.

Luke 6:37 Judge not [neither pronouncing judgment nor subjecting to censure], and you will not be judged; do not condemn and pronounce guilty, and you will not be condemned and pronounced guilty; acquit and forgive and release (give up resentment, let it drop), and you will be acquitted and forgiven and released.

That is very clear, is it not, do not judge!

Is the Bible, which is 100 percent accurate now contradicting itself with the following scripture? How can this be?

1 Cor 6:3 Do you not know also that we [Christians] are to judge the [very] angels and pronounce opinion between right and wrong [for them]? How much more then [as to] matters pertaining to this world and of this life only!

What is going on here, this is confusing?

My answer is simple there is no confusion, the instructions are for two different spiritual conditions of man.

My first referenced verse relates to the old man and the second verse represents the new man.

2 Cor 5:17 Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

Prior to the death burial and resurrection of Jesus we were not in a moral position to JUDGE.

The old man is dead, and the previous moral and spiritual condition has passed away!!! If you are a Christian and  you keep telling yourself; I am just a sinner saved by grace, that is NOT true. That is your PAST,  You use to be a sinner,  but now your relationship with sin is broken. You are in the Body of Christ. It is a new day. Get that in your head please.

1 John 3:9 No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God's nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.

When anyone tells you; You ain't perfect everybody sins. This response is a way of justifying their own moral failings by trying to discredit you, especially if they are feeling convicted. DO NOT FALL INTO THAT TRAP!!! Jesus is perfect and you are in HIM. And just like a baby that grows and begins to mature so shall you be increasingly victorious as you cling to, trust in and rely on Jesus.  The sinner practices sin without regret and encourages the same, we are not of that kind.

We can pass  judgement because we are begotten of GOD. We are BORN AGAIN. You are not the same person anymore.

Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we had done, but because of His own pity and mercy, by [the] cleansing [bath] of the new birth (regeneration) and renewing of the Holy Spirit,
Titus 3:6 Which He poured out [so] richly upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior.

As a young Christian I had the unfortunate experience of being part of a church that preached condemnation. Week after week I  rarely heard an encouraging word, we always felt unworthy. I was a baby in Christ and I had no clue that sin no longer had dominion over me and that the Blood of Jesus has washed away all my sin, Praise His Name, Now and forevermore!!!!! I lived for some time always feeling defeated and admittedly would fall back into sin.

The spirit of condemnation is very active in many churches, it is a controlling force to keep the people under the control of manipulative leadership. Plainly speaking, preaching condemnation is spiritual abuse.
How did I obtain  deliverance? I am an  avid reader of the Bible and spirit filled, GOD one day during my study time, made me free. There is a major difference between being set free and made free. If you are set free it means you can again be captured. But when a person is made free then it is a done deal. When you know the truth the truth will make you free. That is why it is so very important that your read your Bible. Please read your Bible.

John 8:32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.

And yes temptations will come in every shape and form. We still carry with us daily our decaying bodies that are a product of sin. Being a Christian requires discipline, it is NOT easy, we are engaged in warfare within our very being.

1 Cor 9:27 But [like a boxer] I buffet my body [handle it roughly, discipline it by hardships] and subdue it, for fear that after proclaiming to others the Gospel and things pertaining to it, I myself should become unfit [not stand the test, be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit]

The body we have is not saved... eventually we will get new bodies, but for right now, until Jesus comes we must keep our bodies in check.

This is how we keep our sinful bodies under our control .

Gal 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.

The Lord has filled us with HIS Spirit to remain our companion forever. The Holy Spirits role in our relationship with GOD can not be over estimated. Walking by the Spirit of GOD is the only way to live victoriously. Waking by the Spirit means to listen to HIS instructions habitually. If your mind is on GOD you will be lead by HIM.

Back to the subject; "Who are we to Judge".

We are approved to pass judgement because of our position in Christ Jesus.

Eph 2:6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Our position in Christ  grants us objective reasoning and  judgement on issues of morality. The purpose for our new found authority is to maintain the purity  and Holiness of the Church. Because without holiness no man shall see Jesus. Living above sin is to be expected of the people of GOD, it is not optional.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of GOD. The reason you are not living above sin is because you have been taught that you will always be a sinner. If our teaching is Bible accurate then you would be taught how you can indeed live apart from sin and that you can live victoriously in Christ.

Here is a very relevant case supporting the lesson, documented in scripture:

1 Cor 5:1 IT IS actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, impurity of a sort that is condemned and does not occur even among the heathen; for a man has [his own] father's wife.

1 Cor 5:2 And you are proud and arrogant! And you ought rather to mourn (bow in sorrow and in shame) until the person who has done this [shameful] thing is removed from your fellowship and your midst.

And what is the judgement to be rendered in this case?

1 Cor 5:5 You are to deliver this man over to Satan for physical discipline [to destroy carnal lusts which prompted him to incest], that [his] spirit may [yet] be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

In situations when anyone is unrepentant, that is how we handle things.

I hope this clears up the whole - do not judge- thing. It is no longer applicable to those who are now born from above, born again!!!

Meditate on who you really are -someone the world is clueless about.

1 Cor 2:15 But the spiritual man tries all things [he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things], yet is himself to be put on trial and judged by no one [he can read the meaning of everything, but no one can properly discern or appraise or get an insight into him].
1 Cor 2:16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

And for you preachers out there keep preaching the truth!!!

2 Tim 4:2 Herald and preach the Word! Keep your sense of urgency [stand by, be at hand and ready], whether the opportunity seems to be favorable or unfavorable. [Whether it is convenient or inconvenient, whether it is welcome or unwelcome, you as preacher of the Word are to show people in what way their lives are wrong.] And convince them, rebuking and correcting, warning and urging and encouraging them, being unflagging and inexhaustible in patience and teaching.

No you will not be popular in the earth but you will be a big hit in heaven!!!!

Do not expect a welcome wagon.

Mark 13:13 And you will be hated and detested by everybody for My name's sake, but he who patiently perseveres and endures to the end will be saved (made a partaker of the salvation by Christ, and delivered from spiritual death).

Jesus and Obama - Amos 3:3 Do two walk together except they agree.

Y'all Not Gon Like Me!!! Non Christians Take a pass.

One of many issues that alarms me about Obama is the position his administration holds concerning a Palestinian state with lands occupying Jerusalem. This case is contrary to Bible Prophecy, the land belongs to the decedents of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

Of course the facts are Obama holds many anti Christian policies while claiming to be a Christian.. . pro choice, and the gay agenda for example not to mention the economic policies like the immoral practice of printing artificial money.

Many Christian African Americans have turned a blind eye to these contradictions and many support our President in spite of Bible instruction to the contrary. All because we are so happy to have a black president. If I have to choose between any elected officials policies and the Bible, the Bible wins every time hands down.

I know some of you do not like what I am saying but trust me I am not trying to please you or provide an opinion that fits the mind set of Black society. I am a Christian first live or die, so let the chips fall where they may.

Matt 10:28 "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
What do I call any Christian that chooses the policies of a man over GOD. I call them idolaters. Those of you that have compromised your Christian principles for politics that is what you are an idolater. Anytime you put something or someone ahead of GOD you are now an idol worshiper.

Rev 21:8 But as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the unbelieving and faithless, and as for the depraved and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)--[all of these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone. This is the second death.

Oh just a quick note , those of you that read horoscopes and call yourself some sign. I suggest you repent and stop asap. You are practicing magic arts as mentioned in the above scripture.

Here is what you have overlooked in favor of Obama rather than Jesus:
**********************************************************************

Israel, That includes ALL of Jerusalem, not half of Jerusalem.

Ezek 36:24 "For I will take you from the nations, gather you from all the lands and bring you into your own land.

Abortion, ( GOD gives life and therefore you have no right to distinguish it!!)  I laugh when I hear people, say what about rape and incest? ... Those situations in number ares like 1 tenth of one percent, if that, of all cases so you want to enact a law for everyone on this premise -give me a break.  In those few cases involving rape and incest depending on the hardship God will have mercy, and our laws should be written to reflect the same..However we know most people seeking an abortion have not been raped.

Or pro choice people say;  they say this is my body, I will do what I want with it. No it is not because you are going to die one day and your body will turn to dust. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. When you die your body is going into the ground , it is not yours it's just your earth suit. The real you will live forever in heaven or in hell.

Tell you what when you are on your death bed just get up and walk away because it's your body right and you can do what you want with your body.

Heb 9:27 And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,

God created YOU!!!

Ps 139:13 For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother's womb.

Gay Agenda: ( common sense should tell you two men or two women are not by design supposed to create a marriage union-Get Real)

1 Cor 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals

The Economy: Printing artificial dollars by the Federal reserve bank, it is an abomination!! - But instead of calling it what it is, they call it Quantitative Easing....LOL, that is too funny. It is just like Wall Street when it was creating all those phony insurance policies and calling them debt swaps, not backed by a single penny!!!  We are turning the dollar into monopoly money. If your paycheck is in dollars it will soon be worthless. A wealth shift is about to occur from the US and Europe to  the Asian and Arab nations because these nations have real money.

Also please know China, Japan and Saudi Arabia are buying gold and silver like crazy and that is why the cost of precious metals are raising daily. Why the rush? Because these nations  have purchased the us dollar in the form of treasury notes to finance our deficit to the amount of about 1.7 Trillion dollars and they realize it is a bad investment. Therefore, they are buying gold and silver as a hedge against the inevitable collapse of the dollar. We will never be able to pay them the money back.

Prov 11:1 A false balance is an abomination to the LORD,
But a just weight is His delight.

Conclusion; What happens to us who have no fear of reprisal and speak boldly to this sinful generation???

Luke 12:8 And I tell you, Whoever declares openly [speaking out freely] and confesses that he is My worshiper and acknowledges Me before men, the Son of Man also will declare and confess and acknowledge him before the angels of God.
Luke 12:9 But he who disowns and denies and rejects and refuses to acknowledge Me before men will be disowned and denied and rejected and refused acknowledgement in the presence of the angels of God.

Oh and the "Non -Christians, take a pass"..LOL I knew that statement would prove to some of you, to be a catalyst to your own curiosity :) Got-cha! - I am a fishermen of men this time the bait was curiosity. When it comes to saving a soul I try to be wise as a serpent yet harmless as a dove.

Ormond Burns -

Where are we on GOD's prophetic timetable.- For Daytime Folks - Prov 4:18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, That shines brighter and brighter until the full day

Luke 21:24 and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Reading this verse makes me tremble because this prophecy has already been fulfilled.  When was it fulfilled ? This was fulfilled When Israel became a nation  and no longer controlled by gentile nations. Israel became a sovereign state on May 14,1948 .  The Jewish people began returning to their homeland in large numbers at the end of War World 2. Their return to Israel still continues to this very day.  By the way, Jerusalem is divided now because of Palestinian occupation. This situation will not continue, the Temple Mount is occupied by a Mosque this will be destroyed and a Jewish temple will be rebuilt at the location.

Israel was destroyed in 70 AD,   Restored on May 14th,1948. This day also happens to be also  the day of Pentecost.  If I begin to talk about the significance of the days and number of days on this subject I would be here for awhile. I think I will save that topic for another time.

This was prophesied by  Ezekiel :

Ezek 37:21 "Say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land;

In the next scripture references Jesus uses a  parable, Jesus refers to Israel as a fig tree to illustrate a point;
GOD is saying that when Israel is established as a nation and begins to be a prosperous nation(which it is) This is a certain sign that GOD's reign on earth is near.

Luke 21:29 Then He told them a parable: "Behold the fig tree and all the trees;
Luke 21:30 as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near.
Luke 21:31 "So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.
Luke 21:32 "Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.

Jesus says the generation of people born during this time will see the coming of the LORD.. Praise His Name!!! People the reference is to the baby boomer generation, I am in the number :)

God proclaims that when the fullness of the Gentiles have come in, we will see Jewish people being saved. Today there are now 15,000 Messianic Jews in Israel and countless more in the US and around the world.

Rom 11:25 For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;
Rom 11:26 and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
"THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION,
HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB."

The previously hardened hearts of Israel are now hearing the Gospel!!!

My first exposure to Jewish believers in Jesus occurred in 1987 . I was a member of the Community of the Holy Spirit located in Eastlake, Ohio. One Sunday a local Messianic congregation came and fellowshipped with us. It was an awesome service, we had CHURCH. Tell you what, you really want your eyes open talk to a Rabbi who is knows Jesus. After hearing this Rabbi teach I wanted to go back and read the entire Bible again.. In fact I did...LOL

As more and more Jewish people accept the Lord Jesus,  our Prophetic timetable lets us realize we are very near the end.

Check out this link for more info on Messianic Jews:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeXZh9F7JmI

These are only a mere few scriptures that indicate what lies shortly ahead of us. The book of Daniel is also a very excellent resource.  It is very rich in prophetic proclamations.

Finally I do want to briefly say all  prophecies we read in the Bible are 100% accurate and none originated or had their source in man.

2 Pet 1:21 For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so--it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

To take scripture from the Holy Bible and to reduce them to the thoughts of men is to commit an act of Blaspheme'. The Bible is Jesus Christ in the form of a document. It is the Living WORD of GOD. And the only way you do not know that is because you are dead in sin. Ask Jesus into your life TODAY!!

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Be comforted your redemption is near.

1 Thess 5:2 For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night.
1 Thess 5:3 While they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape.
1 Thess 5:4 But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief;

Be aware and alert and watch all the signs as shown in the Word of God, Of course you will have to read the Bible to know what the signs are :) Please read.

Stuff Gon Happen

I remember when I first became born again (July 21,1984 @11:30 PM). I was so very excited to know Jesus.

Everything around me seemed new, I only expected things to get increasingly better in the road ahead. I did not know stuff was going to happen.

The Title says it all - Stuff is going to happen. We are woefully inadequate to control this ongoing consequence of living. Jesus, therefore sheds light on this dilemma of ours by saying simply since you can not do anything about it, why worry .

Matt 6:34 So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble.

Each day will have it's proportion of trouble as long as we live in this world.

I love how Jesus puts things in perspective for us in scripture, teaching us how things really work.

Jesus says listen you can not add an additional day to your life through all your worrying and neither can you grow yourself a single inch taller.through worry. He is letting us know worry does not produce results. Two cans of worry provides zero cans of answers.

And what is it exactly that we worry about? The answer; OUR NEEDS!!!!! However let's recognize this is NOT what should motivate our drive for living.

Matt 6:25 (a) Therefore I tell you, stop being perpetually uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink; or about your body, what you shall put on.

Our needs brothers and sisters being met is a given in the Kingdom of GOD

Please do not confuse this with the false doctrine of the so called prosperity gospel. I am talking about our need NOT excessive high living .

1 Tim 6:8 But if we have food and clothing, with these we shall be content (satisfied).

This next scripture, part (b) of the above verse just blows me away!!!

Matt 6:25 (b) ............. Is not life greater [in quality] than food, and the body [far above and more excellent] than clothing?

God says I have given you life of course you will have food and I have given you a body of course I will give you clothes...

God is saying; what is wrong with you people, I clothe the grass of the field and feed the birds of the air, do you not know, do you not realize, you are far more valuable to me than those things'''.duh people . I died for you!!!

Rom 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Our provision is found in the sufficiency wholly contained by Christ Jesus!!!

Phil 4:19 And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Sounds like a great deal right, so what do I have to do as a Christian if Jesus has my back? What is my part of the bargain?

Matt 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides.

That verse above defines our motivation for living.

God's will for your life comes equipped with the Lord's provision for your life.

In contrast those without GOD they are motivated by ensuring their needs are met primarily through their own efforts.

Matt 6:32 For the Gentiles (heathen) wish for and crave and diligently seek all these things,

" I Owe I Owe It's Off To Work I Go! "

The differences here are HUGE!! but let Jesus break it down for you in simple terms

Matt 6:24 No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will stand by and be devoted to the one and despise and be against the other. You cannot serve God and mammon (deceitful riches, money, possessions, or whatever is trusted in).

ummmmmmhummmmm Trusting in your 401K? You can not control the stock market , the housing market, hoping the value of the dollar does not plunge... Stuff is GON Happen!

Matt 7:24 "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock.

Matt 7:25 "And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock.

Matt 7:26 "Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

Matt 7:27 "The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell--and great was its fall."

When the layoff notice hits your desk, your property is lost or devalued, when Wall street robs you of your savings where will you be and what will you be trusting in brothers and sisters.

Stuff Gon Happen - Hope you have the right foundation !!! The Storms are going to keep coming, so do things GOD's way.

The subject of Holiness

Hey there

It has been a little while since I did any blogging.. I try not to make it a routine, creating something just for the sake of doing it.  But I nonetheless call it Today's Bible Study.  Well it is for the day I write it thats my explanation.   My topic for today is on the subject of Holiness.  What garbs my attention on this subject is this single verse:

Heb 12:14
Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.

Without Holiness no one will ever see the LORD. That is a scary thought . There it is in black and white..

Are you living a holy life? If you are not living a Holy life then you will not see Jesus. There is still time to change your ways... Like now would be the time to change, tomorrow is not promised.

What does it mean to live Holy.
 Definition:
 Set apart to the service or worship of God; hallowed; sacred; reserved from profane or common use

The Apostle Paul's Secret

Phil 4:12 I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.

What is the secret Paul talks about in this scripture? When Paul has all His needs met or when he has nothing and in difficult circumstances he can face the situation because of this secret Paul has learned.

First I find that this scripture goes against current theology in charismatic doctrine. " The Gospel of Prosperity", declares poverty to be resolved through the salvation of Jesus Christ , AND tithing of course, the blood of Jesus was not enough, your prosperity only comes through your giving ten percent of your income and beyond.  FALSE DOCTRINE!!! and a FALSE GOSPEL.. Being poor is not a curse. In fact the Bible says poor Christian are RICH in Faith!!!

James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and in their position as believers and to inherit the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?

 If you have accepted the "Gospel of Prosperity as truth, then you will not grasp the full understanding of this verse and many other Bible truths because you have allowed false teachers to defile your understanding.

Being a successful Christian is found in our learned  ability through trial  to overcome life's difficulties no matter the magnitude of the problem.  The scripture reads "in any and all circumstances". I have learned the secret  to facing hardship, which includes poverty people meaning being broke. The Apostle Paul faced a tremendous amount of hardship for the sake of Christ...

2 Cor 6:4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
2 Cor 6:5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,

Here is the secret I’ve been talking about;

2 Cor 1:8For we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about the affliction and oppressing distress which befell us in [the province of] Asia, how we were so utterly and unbearably weighed down and crushed that we despaired even of life [itself].

2 Cor 1:9 Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the [very] sentence of death, but that was to keep us from trusting in and depending on ourselves instead of on God Who raises the dead.

The secret is so simple , trusting in GOD will give you the inner strength needed to endure anything that comes our way.  Because the LORD promises this;

Heb 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!

Beauty Treatments - A Holiness Allegory

DRAFT--- GOTTA GET BACK TO THIS :)

Our basis for this study is simply that the old testament serves as a type and shadow of the new covenant established through the blood of Jesus. Let me first admit that I have taken a little artistic liberty as a writer to stretch the meaning of the definition allegory. How did I expand the meaning of this word???? In most cases allegories are fiction.. But in this case .. everything is fact, everything actually happened, because the old testament is 100 percent accurate, people the Bible is flawless.. If you do not think so then I suggest you read no further. ..

al·le·go·ry  (l-gôr, -gr)
n. pl. al·le·go·ries
1.
 The representation of abstract ideas or principles by characters, figures, or events in narrative, dramatic, or pictorial form.

The Title ; Beauty Treatments may confuse a secular thinking reader, but for a spirit filled Christian it provokes the desire for inquiry.

1 Cor 2:15 But the spiritual man tries all things,[he examines, investigates, inquires into, questions, and discerns all things.....

Clearly this is not the mind set of popular culture that has demoted Christians to unreasonable  individuals bent on forcing their morality on free so called free thinking society.

Why am I saying "so called" because secular thinking is not free and as I have learned over time very predictable.....

2 Cor 4:4
For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God.

So much for the free thinkers..

Okay, I've made my point,back to the subject of Beauty .. so what am I saying in all of this ???? Often times references in the Bible in the Old testament for Beautify is an allegory for Holiness.  My Old Testament example rest in the story of Ester...  And the beauty treatments she received is an allegory for our preparations to meet Jesus as the Bride of Christ...

Esth 2:12
Now when the turn of each maiden came to go in to King Ahasuerus, after the regulations for the women had been carried out for twelve months--since this was the regular period for their beauty treatments, six months with oil of myrrh and six months with sweet spices and perfumes and the things for the purifying of the women--

Beauty = Holiness, then Oil= the Holy Spirit
Ex 37:29He also made the holy anointing oil [symbol of the Holy Spirit

, Myrrh = Purification,

 Sweet Spices = Trial nad Purfumes = Fellowship with Jesus.

Tithing - The Sacred Cow Because it is a Cash Cow

I have been wanting to address the subject of tithing for some time now. Today is a good day so why not now.

Here is some food for thought, did you know that the poor in the Old Testament were not required to Tithe...Think on that for a while...  I say that because it is the poor who are most exploited with the whole giving thing.

There has been much debate about tithing among Christians for ages. I find the proper position we should take regarding giving is of course in the Bible. Before I go into my scripture references I want to say that tithing has been a tremendous burden for a large number of Church members. It is introduced to us as a hard and fast rule not to be ever questioned. I find most people have been so brainwashed about tithing that they would never question if it is right or wrong.

We often hear testimonies about how someone received a financial blessing as a result of them being faithful tithers, but we never hear or rarely hear of the many financial failures suffered through the act of tithing. The failures do exist and in very very large numbers.

Giving :

2 Cor 9:7Let each one [give] as he has made up his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].

Many Churches today mandate tithing as a necessity in Christian living. This position by the Church is NOT scripturally based.

The Bible says giving has to be something that we make up our own minds to do or not to do. Giving of course is good. In fact the Bible says it is more blessed to give than receive

.
Where is the instruction for tithing in the New Testament?

Tithing:

Luke 11:42
"But woe to you Pharisees! For you pay tithe of mint and rue and every kind of garden herb, and yet disregard justice and the love of God; but these are the things you should have done without neglecting the others.

Interesting there is the New Testament reference. So it is true, we must tithe because Jesus says these you should have done.

Guess my argument against tithing has been shot down? Would you agree?

But Jesus is addressing the Jewish people in this verse still under the old covenant law. That's right the New Covenant , provided in and through the Blood of Jesus had NOT come into existence because Jesus had yet to die.

The Jewish nation was still sacrificing animals for their sins during the time Jesus was alive. So the fact that they were tithing as well does not at all surprise me.

Matt 5:17"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill.

Yes without the fulfillment of the LAW, unless GOD's LAW had been fulfilled there would be NO salvation.

And now because Jesus did what no one else could do, our faith in the finish work of the cross brings the FREE gift of salvation to us all.

By the way you know what the people did many times when they brought their tithe to the temple as part of thier worship? They had a feast , yes they ate the tithe...Yes the needs of the priest were met but  Sunday dinner was had at church as well.  The people brought livestock,  crops and such, ten percent and they sat down and eat what they brought.  It would be like us going to church bringing our money and then paying caterers for providing dinner. The purpose here seems to be that the tithe was supporting fellowship with GOD in HIS temple.

The other purpose of the tithe is to give to those most needy.

Deut 26:12 "When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied.

One of the things I find out of order in many Churches is that there is little understanding of the mercy of GOD. God always chooses mercy over sacrifice. In fact GOD is always looking for a way to dispense mercy to His beloved people. That would be us the people Jesus was nailed on the cross for, me and you. GOD has an intense passion to be merciful.

Matt 9:13Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy [that is, readiness to help those in trouble] and not sacrifice and sacrificial victims.

Let me break this down simply, Tithing even in the old testament  can be viewed and should be viewed as a sacrifice. If you do not have the money then GOD has mercy and says it is ok. Yes it is true giving is based on what you have to give NOT on what you do not have to give. If after you've paid all your bills and you have little left, keep it so you have money to live on people and that is what mercy is about.

Here is a list of abuses occurring under the false doctrine of tithing:

If you are in trouble and you need money the church will not help unless you have been a consistent tither.

If you are not a tither you can not participate in any role in the church, be it an usher, choir member or whatever.

If you are not a consistent tither you will be an outsider some people will just refuse to engage you socially.

Where is the love of GOD in this behavior!!!!!!!!

Many members of the so called Church Hierarchy have become rich and some millionaires because of the nonsensical practice of Tithing.  And then they parade their lavish lifestyles without shame in front of the world. If the pastor has two Mercedes and a Porsche and some of his members are riding the bus to church who should be giving to who?

Wake up people! stop being used.  Ask the LORD to put someone in your path that really needs help and give to them!!!

Let me sum up giving with this final Bible verse and I pray it becomes revelation in your reading. This is the purpose of GIVING.

Acts 4:34
Nor was there a destitute or needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses proceeded to sell them, and one by one they brought (gave back) the amount received from the sales

Acts 4:35
And laid it at the feet of the apostles (special messengers). Then distribution was made according as anyone had need.

 You mean the apostles did not go out and buy themselves a Lexus and then tell the people how much GOD was going to bless them for giving all that money?

Should we support church workers??? Absolutely as they labor for the work of the LORD. But not at all to the excessiveness in lifestyle that we see daily in our Churches.
