Fasting properly, the Fast GOD honors

Is 58:6 "Is this not the fast which I choose,
To loosen the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the bands of the yoke,
And to let the oppressed go free
And break every yoke?


Is 58:7 "Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry
And bring the homeless poor into the house;
When you see the naked, to cover him;
And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?

How does GOD respond to your love as shown by acts of kindness.
Did you know acts of kindness is a byproduct of a righteous person.

Did you know that is why GOD chose the home of Cornelius the Gentile to be the first non jew
to recieve the Holy Spirit.

Acts 10:31 And he said, Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and harkened to, and your donations to the poor have been known and preserved before God [so that He heeds and is about to help you].

Seems to me Cornelius knew how to fast properly. And Now GOD is going to reward him.

GOD sent Peter to Cornelius's house to be the first gentile home to receive  the Holy Spirit. Salvation was now available to gentiles.. ahh that would be mostly US .

Your righteousness will produce this reaction from the Righteous ONE, The Most High GOD.

Is 58:8 "Then your light will break out like the dawn,
And your recovery will speedily spring forth;
And your righteousness will go before you;
The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.

Is 58:9 "Then you will call, and the LORD will answer;
You will cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'

Consider this when considering your compassion towards Haiti and any
people including your neighbors who could be in dire need in this current
economic climate.

1 John 3:17 But if anyone has this world's goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?

If you want to please GOD then behave in the manner of your birthright as a child of GOD, in the Spirit of
Righteousness. This is GOD's Chosen FAST.

2 Cor 9:9 as it is written,
"HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR,
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER."

Fasting in accordance with the LORD's instructions....... Amen (So be it)

Are you ready for this???? Let's talk about the devil

Luke 4:6 And the devil said to Him, "I will give You all this domain and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish.

What I find so very interesting about this verse is how our LORD Jesus responds..

Luke 4:8 Jesus answered him, "It is written, 'YOU SHALL WORSHIP THE LORD YOUR GOD AND SERVE HIM ONLY.'"

Jesus did not deny the devil;s domain neither did Jesus say you have no authority to give me the world's glory..

The devil has a dominion, Yes he does, otherwise we would not have to be saved.. We would be asking ourselves .. saved from what???.

He has dominion over the lost and unsaved in the world.. .The devil is often called..The God of this world.... How so, something to consider when you ask the question:

2 Cor 4:4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not hesr the the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God

Another verse from the Holy Bible..that breaks it down for us..
Saved from what???? let me make it plain the fight is for you soul is on...

And ahhhhh the devil would very much like for you to hang out with him.

Is 5:14 Therefore Sheol (the unseen state, the realm of the dead...HELL ) has enlarged its appetite and opened its mouth without measure;

Too scary????? Hey do not sweat it my brother and sister.. Because:

Luke 10:19 "Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.

So you don't want to think about hell or the devil.. much too unpleasant.... and I would not want to hear that a train is coming unless I am stuck on the tracks and in the trains path...

Thought Life

Ever have racing thoughts, your mind jumps for one topic to another...I can relate been there... Where do your thoughts come from??? The brain??? actually our brain is only the processing center for our thoughts.
Consider this scripture:

Mark 7:21 For from within, [that is] out of the hearts of men, come base and wicked thoughts, sexual immorality, stealing, murder, adultery,

The error free Holy Bible says our thoughts represent what is in our hearts... If love is in your heart, then love is in your thoughts.. and likewise if hate is in your heart.. hate is in your thoughts.. whatever is in your heart will be in your thoughts..

The heart of unregenerate mankind can be described concisely by this scripture:

Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly perverse and corrupt and severely, mortally sick! Who can know it [perceive, understand, be acquainted with his own heart and mind]?

This seems to be a hopeless situation... BUT, not for you, not for the blood bought child of the Living GOD!!!


-- Ezek 36:26 "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

Totally took away the old heart which was beyond repair and we have now a new heart AND a new spirit...The candle of the LORD and our life force..

It is called the Born Again Experience..

Phil 4:8 For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them].

The Seduction of the Church

The church as a body is no different from the world in behavior. We have been seduced make no mistake about this. .

1 Tim 4:1 BUT THE [Holy] Spirit distinctly and expressly declares that in latter times some will turn away from the faith, giving attention to deluding and seducing spirits and doctrines that demons teach,

Yes there are exceptions, and how would I know that? Because God always leaves Himself a remnant that have not bowed their knee to Baal ( Or the Worlds System)

1 Kin 19:18 "Yet I will leave 7,000 in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal and every mouth that has not kissed him."

So yes, absolutely we do have people still living for Jesus in all respects.
Today that remnant people are called the elect of GOD.

Matt 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise, and they will show great signs and wonders so as to deceive and lead astray, if possible, even the elect (God's chosen ones).

Are you the Elect of GOD? Everyone of us must ask THEMSELVES that question.

Or have you been seduced with the lure of the world.

When we describe the world it is the context of scripture, this is our reference:

1 John 2:15 Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.


1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].


1 John 2:17 And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever

Lust of the flesh , the Lust of the Eye, And the Pride of life. The worlds tools of seduction.

How do I know if I am a victim of seduction??? Are you confessing Jesus as Lord but living in an unrepentant state. Is your confession one thing but your behavior worldly nonetheless, then you have been seduced. Somehow you have reasoned or rationalized in your mind that although the Bible speaks against my behavior you tell yourself its ok, nobody is perfect.

Your thinking is what the Bible defines as a stronghold, a position established in you thought processes that literally blocks the intent of GOD for your life.

2 Cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,


2 Cor 10:5 [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One),

In our old sin nature , sin had control, we were constantly under its lure..

BUT NOT SO NOW!!!!!!

Rom 6:1 WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God's grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow?


Rom 6:2 Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?

Unless you have been seduced to believe otherwise

2 Pet 2:20 For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through [the full, personal] knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again become entangled in them and are overcome, their last condition is worse [for them] than the first.


2 Pet 2:21 For never to have obtained a [full, personal] knowledge of the way of righteousness would have been better for them than, having obtained [such knowledge], to turn back from the holy commandment which was [verbally] delivered to them.

2 Pet 2:22 There has befallen them the thing spoken of in the true proverb, The dog turns back to his own vomit, and, The sow is washed only to wallow again in the mire


DON'T BE A DOG!!! Return to God with all your might and thereby demonstrate that you are indeed the Elect of GOD.

Rom 12:1 I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.

And in the process discover the LORDS' perfect will for your life


Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you]. --

Faith applied in times of difficulty.__ Time to be on our knees

Faith applied in times of difficulty.______ It has personally been hard for me to see so many of my family, friends and colleagues out of work. As we know the real unemployment rate is around 17 percent nationally. Why 17 percent because the government does not count people that have stopped looking for jobs. The unemployment rate for African Americans and Hispanics the jobless rate is even higher. I do not have faith that a government program will restore jobs . I do not have faith in politicians, my faith rest in GOD alone. In fact it is clear to me that our government is corrupt and moving away from GOD and not toward the Lord Jesus.

I am asking my Christian family to join me in prayer and ask the Lord to turn this thing around. I will be asking the Lord Jesus to restore jobs and to heal our land and forgive us for the sins of greed and hedonism. For those of you that agree with me please pray today either at home or in church that the wind of prosperity blow upon the unemployed and the underemployed..

Lord forgive us from the sin of greed

1 Tim 6:9

But those who crave to be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish (useless, godless) and hurtful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction and miserable perishing.

Lord forgive us for the sin of murder. (Includes racism in all its mutations and forms against any people, exploiting the poor through false promises of prosperity, and let us not forget unforgiveness)

1 John 3:15

Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Lord forgive us for the sin of fornication and adultery

Heb 13:4

Let marriage be held in honor (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous


Lord forgive us for devaluing life through acts of abortion

Ps 139:15

My frame was not hidden from You when I was being formed in secret [and] intricately and curiously wrought [as if embroidered with various colors] in the depths of the earth [a region of darkness and mystery].

Ps 139:16

Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them

Lord send a spirit of repentance and revival to the homosexual community. The legalization of same sex marriage will bring further curses on this nation..

1 Cor 6:9

Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,


I am not going to list all of the sins of this nation , but you do get my point. Please join me in prayer today because GOD can and will heal us and our land if we turn this thing around through true repentence..


Sin causes drought, or an absence of prosperity

2 Chr 7:13

"If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people,

Repentance causes restoration and the return to prosperity.

2 Chr 7:14

and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
