Is the "Church" showing itself as a whole to be the watchman on the wall and the moral compass of our society?

that we as a living communal group of people have a two fold role in the world.
Our roles is first to be the light of the world. The word light in it's most basic usage means reveal, to make things visible or expose. This word "light" in scripture is rooted in the greek word
