Judgement awaits us. However we do have a choice in the matter

Is 60:12 "For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, And the nations will be utterly ruined.

I have been watching some of the pre-inaugural events here in DC. But what concerns me is the current unrepentant state of our nation. Our country is guilty of gross trespasses against the inspired Word of GOD.

We are not unlike Nineveh or even Sodom and Gomorrah and therefore the same pronouncement of judgement awaits us.

However we do have a choice in the matter. We can repent and turn from wickedness and be spared judgement, as did the city of Nineveh. Or, we can stay on our present course and be destroyed like Sodom and Gomorrah.

I pray we recieve the former outcome described herein and choose the path of Ninevah.

Jon 3:10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God revoked His [sentence of] evil that He had said that He would do to them and He did not do it [for He was comforted and eased concerning them].

Or are we going to reap the tragic outcome of judgement because we are stiff necked and willfully refuse to turn from sin.

Gen 19:24 Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven,
Gen 19:25 and He overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground.

Your new body has been ordered

Salvation comes with a guarantee. A guarantee of what, you ask? The guarantee that you have full redemption and will receive your full inheritance from the LORD. .. And what form does this guarantee come in, where's the paperwork. ? It comes in the form of your infilling of the Holy Spirit, the seal of our guarantee. and the first fruits of our inheritance. No Holy Spirit then you have no guarantee.

2 Cor 1:22 [He has also appropriated and acknowledged us as His by] putting His seal upon us and giving us His [Holy] Spirit in our hearts as the security deposit and guarantee [of the fulfillment of His promise].

Your new body has been ordered

2 Cor 5:2 Here indeed, in this [present abode, body], we sigh and groan inwardly, because we yearn to be clothed over [we yearn to put on our celestial body like a garment, to be fitted out] with our heavenly dwelling,
The Promise

1 Cor 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the [sound of the] last trumpet call. For a trumpet will sound, and the dead [in Christ] will be raised imperishable (free and immune from decay), and we shall be changed (transformed).

Here's the thing people. Once you have accepted the Lord and therefore obtained the righteousness of Christ as your righteousness we know this means we are no longer sinners. Well now, if we are no longer sinners, then why are we still tempted to sin?? Ooopps - the house we live in, our mortal earth suits, our flesh is still sinful. Our bodies know no other way to express itself. This is why we get new bodies at the culmination of our full redemption because this body we have now is defiled and has no place in heaven.

Rom 8:13 For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

Ok so we can live beyond sin after all, by putting to death through the Holy Spirit the deeds prompted by the flesh. Another reason why you must be filled with the Holy Spirit. We need access to power from heaven to overcome sin.
