We all are familiar with this scripture:
John 15:16 "You did not choose Me but I chose you,
and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit,
and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever
you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.
Does GOD make choices based on any particular criteria???
This is very interesting because "ALL Have Sinned and
fallen short of the Glory of GOD...
Therefore no one is chosen by GOD based on any personal merit...
We know and understand that
God is NOT a respecter of persons.
..
Acts 10:34 And Peter opened his mouth and said: Most certainly
and thoroughly I now perceive and understand that God shows
no partiality and is no respecter of persons,
So who might be the most likely candidate for the Mercy
and Grace of GOD??? As always the answer can be found in God’s Word, the HOLY BIBLE...
1 Cor 1:28 And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the
world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,
Amazing.. Wow.. GOD does have preferences.. Who woulda
thunk -it..LOL..... It even says He selected and deliberately choose!!!
How would I describe lowborn..?? Here are a few examples..
Children born out of wedlock, the poor, the uneducated, and the disadvantage would be a way of describing the lowborn...
I am certain a few of you could add a few more examples...
These people are lowborn in terms of the World...
Listen to what Jesus says about the Children of the KINGDOM..
.
James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?
There is more;
Luke 10:21 In that same hour He rejoiced and gloried in the Holy Spirit and said, I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have concealed these things [relating to salvation] from the wise and understanding and learned , and revealed them to babes (the childish, unskilled, and untaught). Yes, Father, for such was Your gracious will and choice and good pleasure.
Now GOD will choose some educated some rich, some skillful people as well. But when compared
to the Lowborn... GOD chooses many more of the lowborn... people who are at the end of the world’s pecking order.
1 Cor 1:26 For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.
An excellent example of someone lowborn, whom our Gracious LORD chose would be Mary, the mother of Jesus
She was a poor Shepard girl..
How do I know she was poor? Well other than the historical evidence... the is something far
more dependable for truth... and that would of course be the Bible...
When Jesus was 8 days old Mary and Joseph went to the Temple to dedicate HIM to GOD.. In accordance to Jewish Levitical Law.
Or what is called the Law of Moses.
Luke 2:22 And when the days for their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
Luke 2:23 (as it is written in the Law of the Lord, "EVERY firstborn MALE THAT OPENS THE WOMB SHALL BE CALLED HOLY TO THE LORD"),
Luke 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord. Now an animal sacrifice was to have been made... not for the sins of the Child...but for the Mother...the Law required
Lev 12:7 'Then he shall offer it before the LORD and make atonement for her, and she shall be cleansed from the flow of her blood.
This is the law for her who bears a child, whether a male or a female.
Lev 12:8 'But if she cannot afford a lamb, then she shall take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,
the one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she will be clean.'"
If Mary could not afford a lamb she could offer two turtledoves... What did Mary offer.. the Bible list this record of the event..
Luke 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice according to what was said in the Law of the Lord, "A PAIR OF TURTLEDOVES OR TWO YOUNG PIGEONS."
Mary was poor.. we can be certain if Mary could have afforded a lamb.. She would have certainly offered a lamb..
Is this not REMARKABLE...Now GOD could have chosen to be born into any family BUT He chose a poor Shepard girl.. .. Jesus (GOD) wanted to abandone HIMSELF from any sort of privalege.. So That whaterver occurred had to be from GOD.. Why.. because NO Flesh will Glory in HIS Presence....
1 Cor 1:29 So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.
