Phil 4:12 I know how to be abased and live humbly in straitened circumstances, and I know also how to enjoy plenty and live in abundance. I have learned in any and all circumstances the secret of facing every situation, whether well-fed or going hungry, having a sufficiency and enough to spare or going without and being in want.
What is the secret Paul talks about in this scripture? When Paul has all His needs met or when he has nothing and in difficult circumstances he can face the situation because of this secret Paul has learned.
First I find that this scripture goes against current theology in charismatic doctrine. " The Gospel of Prosperity", declares poverty to be resolved through the salvation of Jesus Christ , AND tithing of course, the blood of Jesus was not enough, your prosperity only comes through your giving ten percent of your income and beyond. FALSE DOCTRINE!!! and a FALSE GOSPEL.. Being poor is not a curse. In fact the Bible says poor Christian are RICH in Faith!!!
James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and in their position as believers and to inherit the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?
James 2:5 Listen, my beloved brethren: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and in their position as believers and to inherit the kingdom which He has promised to those who love Him?
If you have accepted the "Gospel of Prosperity as truth, then you will not grasp the full understanding of this verse and many other Bible truths because you have allowed false teachers to defile your understanding.
Being a successful Christian is found in our learned ability through trial to overcome life's difficulties no matter the magnitude of the problem. The scripture reads "in any and all circumstances". I have learned the secret to facing hardship, which includes poverty people meaning being broke. The Apostle Paul faced a tremendous amount of hardship for the sake of Christ...
2 Cor 6:4 but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God, in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
2 Cor 6:5 in beatings, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in hunger,
Here is the secret I’ve been talking about;
2 Cor 1:8For we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about the affliction and oppressing distress which befell us in [the province of] Asia, how we were so utterly and unbearably weighed down and crushed that we despaired even of life [itself].
2 Cor 1:9 Indeed, we felt within ourselves that we had received the [very] sentence of death, but that was to keep us from trusting in and depending on ourselves instead of on God Who raises the dead.
The secret is so simple , trusting in GOD will give you the inner strength needed to endure anything that comes our way. Because the LORD promises this;
Heb 13:5 Let your character or moral disposition be free from love of money [including greed, avarice, lust, and craving for earthly possessions] and be satisfied with your present [circumstances and with what you have]; for He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. [I will] not, [I will] not, [I will] not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let [you] down (relax My hold on you)! [Assuredly not!
