What is the Bible's definition of what it means to be Blessed ?????? It means happy, to be envied, and spiritually prosperous--with life-joy and satisfaction in God's favor and salvation, regardless of their outward conditions.
Matt 5:8 Blessed (happy, enviably fortunate, and spiritually prosperous--possessing the happiness produced by the experience of God's favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His grace, regardless of their outward conditions) are the pure in heart, for they shall see God!
Regardless of their outward condition..humm so it was nothing to do with material possessions.
Matt 6:19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Matt 6:20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;
That's odd I so often hear my brothers and sister in Christ proclaim how blessed they are when they get more things. I just got a new Beamer.. GOD is Good.. the LORD just blessed me with a new 5 Bedroom house... Am I saying that the Lord will not bless you with material possessions??? I am not saying anything my opinion counts for nothing
What does the Bible state ..
1 Tim 6:8 If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content.
Is that right??? be content with just the necessities of life.... why????
Tim 6:7 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either.
So what would be the purpose of prospering???
2 Cor 8:14 at this present time your abundance being a supply for their need, so that their abundance also may become a supply for your need, that there may be equality;
2 Cor 8:15 as it is written, "HE WHO gathered MUCH DID NOT HAVE TOO MUCH, AND HE WHO gathered LITTLE HAD NO LACK."
Is the Bible saying when we have abundance we are to support those of us that are lacking ????
Acts 4:34 For there was not a needy person among them, for all who were owners of land or houses would sell them and bring the proceeds of the sales
Acts 4:35 and lay them at the apostles' feet, and they would be distributed to each as any had need
This is surprising because many churches teach that the way to get your needs met is from tithing??? Yet here in the Bible the emphasis is on acts of generosity among each other.
James 2:15 If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food,
James 2:16 and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and be filled," and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that?
If I obtain wealth then it is to be distributed to those who need it most and then I will be laying up treasure in Heaven and then I am truly Blessed
2 Cor 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
2 Cor 9:9 as it is written, "HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR,
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER."
This is the craziest thing I have ever heard, where on earth did I get this from...oops oh yeah.. I got it from the Bible. Now what also stands out to me is that Paul wrote almost the entire New Testament and not one time did He mention tithing as a requirement or mandate of the church..yet He often wrote about giving..Why????. Guess He forgot about it.. I bet God was mad at Paul for that... " Boy you did not write anything about tithing Paul, now preachers will have to wear out Malachi 3:8. and it's your fault. " Of course Paul may not have written about the subject of tithing because it is no longer relevant under the new covenant.
| Eph 2:8 | For it is by free grace (God's unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ's salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God; |
