Matt 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

There is one thing that I have found to be sorely lacking in understanding by  the church community at large - It is the reveled heart of a loving GOD shown in this simple verse..

Matt 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

You know what I find so very sad ? Many SO CALLED CHRISTIANS even after reading this are still clueless- It is evidence that your heart is hard.

What am I talking about? Or better yet , what is this the Bible talking about with this verse is the real concern. It is simple GOD's Laws that demand a sacrifice can be overridden under certain conditions. Those conditions are when compassion is needed

Still do not get it?? Look at the context of the scripture. Jesus's disciples were picking corn and eating the grains on the Sabbath Day. The Pharisee's immediately asked Jesus , why He allowed His disciples to do what was unlawful on the Sabbath.

Jesus did not protest and say that picking corn on the Sabbath was right. Not at all , because picking corn on the sabbath was wrong.

Instead He said I desire compassion rather than sacrice and because my disciples were hungry and needed nourishment I had compassion on them.

Matt 12:1 At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples became hungry and began to pick the heads of grain and eat.
Matt 12:2 But when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him, "Look, Your disciples do what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath."
Matt 12:3 But He said to them, "Have you not read what David did when he became hungry, he and his companions,
Matt 12:4 how he entered the house of God, and they ate the consecrated bread, which was not lawful for him to eat nor for those with him, but for the priests alone?
Matt 12:5 "Or have you not read in the Law, that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple break the Sabbath and are innocent?
Matt 12:6 "But I say to you that something greater than the temple is here.
Matt 12:7 "But if you had known what this means, 'I DESIRE COMPASSION, AND NOT A SACRIFICE,' you would not have condemned the innocent.
Matt 12:8 "For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Did you know under old testament law the poor were not required to tithe. Why?? It was because GOD had compassion on them- where is that compassion today.
